Galaxy Plastics is looking for an Office Assistant to fill a short-term 6 month full-time, contractual position.

Galaxy Plastics was established in 1990, finding its roots in supplying fabricated fittings for the hydro and telephone industry to a small regional market. Over the years Galaxy Plastics expanded its manufacturing capabilities to become a leader in the water and wastewater field for fabricated Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) fittings.

As an Office Assistant, you play a vital role in supporting financial and office operations, ensuring accuracy in all documentation within a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:

Filing and maintaining Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) documents.
Assisting with invoice data entry and general administrative duties.
Supporting office personnel with day-to-day operations.
Operating general office equipment and machines.
Maintaining and organizing filing systems and records.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation and area.
Support the department with additional duties as required.

Physical Demands:

Primarily sedentary work, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment.
Standing, sitting, pacing, and walking within the office environment.
Regular visual focus required for reviewing documents, spreadsheets, and data entry with a high level of accuracy (close vision and attention to detail).
Occasional lifting and carrying of light office materials (e.g., files, boxes of documents), typically up to 10–15 lbs.
Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motions, such as typing and data entry.
May require minimal reaching, bending, or stretching to access files or office equipment.
Occasional deadlines may require extended periods of concentration or working at a computer for longer durations.

Additional:

Participate in and further the Company’s health & safety program.
Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
Offer suggestions for process improvement.
Other duties that are assigned and maybe required.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in an office setting preferred.
Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP is an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Shift:

Onsite, in-person
Monday to Friday.
9am to 5pm.
