Position Summary
The Assembly Worker (Gluer) is responsible for assembling components into finished products using adhesives, hand tools, and specialized equipment. This role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhesive Application: Apply glues, solvents, or epoxies manually or operate equipment/machinery.
  • Assembly: Align, fit, and bond components to create sub-assemblies or finished products.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and perform basic maintenance on assembly and gluing machinery.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products for bonding integrity, alignment, and defects.
  • Production Support: Read work orders, gather materials, and meet daily production targets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Report quality issues or equipment concerns and suggest process improvements.
  • Health & Safety: Follow all workplace safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Ability to read a tape measure.
    • Basic math and numerical skills.
    • Familiarity with hand, pneumatic, and electric tools.
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Soft Skills: 
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 22.6 kg / 50 lbs).
  • Repetitive tasks and prolonged standing/walking/pacing.
  • Bending and twisting as required.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and chemical exposure.
  • Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule:
  • Regular Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4pm.
  • Overtime/Alternate Shift (as needed): Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm– 4am.
  • Occasional weekend and statutory holiday work may be required.

Health & Safety Requirements:
  • Must be in good health.
  • Must wear CSA-approved steel-toe boots.
  • Follow all PPE and gowning procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company health and safety policies.
